Barcelona defender Gerard Pique and superstar singer Shakira
welcomed their second child into the world last night.
Shakira gave birth to a baby boy without complications in a
scheduled caesarean section at the Hospital Quiron Tecknon in Barcelona same hospital where she gave birth to her first son Milan
Pique, 27, and the Colombian pop-star, 37, announced the
news in a statement shortly before midnight.
A name for the new-born, who arrives just over two years
after the couple’s first child, Milan, is yet to be revealed.
Around 24 hours before the birth, Pique had played the full
90 minutes in Wednesday night’s 3-2 Copa del Rey victory over Atletico Madrid
at the Vicente Calderon.
As with their first child, Pique and Shakira will continue
family tradition and make the baby an associate member of FC Barcelona.

The celebrity couple have been together since 2010. They
announced their second pregnancy as well as the baby’s sex back in August 2014.
Fellow footballer Lionel Messi was among the first to congratulate the couple on Twitter: "Congratulations @shakira and @3gerardpique on the birth of your son.."
