Son Beheads Father in Ebonyi

The Uduku Ettam Okpitumo community in Ndufu, Ikwo local government Area of Ebonyi State was at the weekend thrown into a state of mourning following the alleged murder of Mr. Ikor Itumo by his son, John.

It was gathered that the deceased was beheaded by his son who concluded that his late father was too old to remain alive.

An eyewitness account revealed that the suspect after committing the crime took the lifeless head of his late father to Edukwu Unwu-essa playground in the area, as a mark of heroism for the entire community to see.

The suspect who is reportedly suffering from a mental disorder believed that he had done something great and should be rewarded for the act.

According to sources, when the news of John’s dastardly act went round the community, a search party led by youths in the area was immediately constituted.

The location where the suspect kept the cutlass he used to kill his father was later discovered.

The suspect was later apprehended by the youths and handed over to the police for interrogation into the circumstances that led to the death of the deceased.

The suspect, who was not remorseful for murdering his father, admitted that he committed the act because the deceased was too old and refused to die on time.

“My father had become older than my late grandfather, therefore he deserved to be killed. He was no more useful to the society because of his old age.”
